Banned Books Week

The American Library Association has set asside this week, Sept 26 thru Oct 3rd, 2009 as Banned Books Week. Their site has a listing of some notable books which have been banned. It indicates who banned it and why. They hold the annual event to celebrate "the freedom to read and the importance of the First Amendment." Something we should all be aware of.
Regardless of whether you have read any of the book on this list, it should be noted that reading is probably the single most important thing you should learn. Read. Read a lot. And enjoy the freedom you have to do so.

OMG - Your First Amendment Rights are in Danger

Your local liberal crazy is about to be empowered with 'flagging' you with "fishy speech" if you speak out about the White House's new health-care plan.

WHAT THE-

Thats right... you may become the next person that the White House has to keep an eye on - if your local fink-meister has anything to say about it, that is. All you have to do is send something in an email that rubs a health-care plan watch-dog just a little wrong. They in turn send that email to the White House to "flag" you as having made 'fishy' claims about Obama's new health-care plan.

Game-Over... You're Flagged

This is atrocious, if you ask me. I agree with Sen. Tom Cornyn on this one.
I'm just a little concerned about my Rights here. Aren't you?

How to Upgrade Windows XP to Windows 7 Without Losing All Your Settings – Make Tech Easier

This article shows an easy way to upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7. From the sounds of it, the process seems quite straightforward. I can understand the MS marketing perspective of keeping XP out of the loop, but why make it hard on people who want to hang on to something that works? XP users will be upgrading to Windows 7 anyway, and there will be a lot of complaining along the way because of the lack uf an upgrade path. This tool should make the path a much smoother one, for sure.
